Getting into more film these days. After shooting digital for 10 months, I feel like digital photography feels too sterile, like all the natural mistakes of film are brushed off. In cleaning up the image with photoshop tricks, you lose the imperfections that added much depth to your subjects. So in trying to balance the old with the new, I will be testing out film with no editing.
For the weekend I used my new used 1979 Olympus XA rangefinder film camera. What did I learn? Bad pixels are caused by underexposed film, 1979 rangefinders can be very hard to focus in low lighting, can't treat the XA's Zuiko f/2.8 lens like my Nikkor prime f/1.8. Overall learned a lot and can't wait for the future rolls. Enjoy.

Film used:
Color film: Fuji Pro 400H
Black and white film: Ilford FP4 Plus 125

One of my favorites from the weekend.
We found him here in the morning, so peaceful.
Ceilings yield nice textures.
You again.
This hot dog probably subconsciously inspired our hot dog party last weekend.
Gopher(s).
Landscape vs infrastructure.
Great angle, form, composition. Another favorite from the weekend.

Thanks for watching,
