City hopping in Tokyo. What a city. You look out the windows if you are standing in the subway cars otherwise they might think you are creepy. With such a dense population it's a surprise that I actually felt more lonely than ever. Like a sea of empty souls criss crossing each other's paths but never looking up to say hi to each other.
The language barrier offers you short glances and quick shuffling feet. In such a technologically advanced city, I felt empty, a lacking of life and human interactions. I find myself in my thoughts the entire ride home while others silently chirp away at their mobile phones, books, headphones, or looking out the windows. Sometimes the Japanese people will catch a glimpse of me in the subway window's reflection, I guess they don't realize I can see their eyes looking at me.

Hi. Thanks for you comment on my facebook page. I shoot digital but I have a film camera. I love this post -- probably because I visited Japan for the first time last year and fell in love with the place. And I love love love black and white photography. The first, ninth and twelfth photographs really resonate with me because I feel as if I have those photos (or ones so similar) in my hard drive somewhere. Keep up the wonderful work.
thank you for your kind words :)
you should take out the film camera more often! although you cant do daily posts because a roll of film takes a few days from start to finish!
