Nippon '10: 6. Sakura Nabe & Others

This is probably my favorite bw roll from Japan thus far so I decided to throw a nice graphic on the first image. Sakura Nabe is essentially horse meat nabeyaki. Some say they call it sakura because of the meat's pink-like variegation. Either way it tasted less gamey than I thought. We had it in sushi, yukke (raw and ground with raw quail egg), and shabu variations. Masaaki took us to an acclaimed restaurant that has been serving it for over 100 years. Japanese food craftsmanship is hard to rival.

The following set is dinner at Haserad's grandma's home, a quaint little place where life is simple and the food is prepared with love. I love the arrangements of people's homes, the way things are stowed away into unique places: organized chaos. We had yakiniku for dinner.

Last few photos are of a hike we did at Mt Sekirou. The shots with the misty mountain ridges show Mt Fuji in the far right distance.

those night shots are my favorite, esp the one inside the bus, grandpa radomski with the chopsticks and both keny and his grandma in frame, then the veritcal mountain range shot with the trees forming a nice curve at the bottom. well done!
