San Francisco 1: Grain Days

Successfully left my dslr at home. It was harder than you'd think. I captured my entire trip on film. A lot of people ask what the difference is between film and digital...

"Film is original and believable, whereas digital is about fabrication and illusion. Film involves a ritual and an economy that focuses the eye and mind." - Bob Carlos Clarke

I totally agree with him. The digital age is starting to make us question our very reality.

Neopan 1600, stylus epic, various locations around san francisco

There definitely is beauty in the ordinary,

I think about the whole digital vs. reality thing often. I need to unplug from time to time, too.

Remember when there wasn't photo editing? You accepted photographs as truths. You never questioned the photographer. Nowadays, its a free for all.

Interesting life you are living and photographing. Use that technology and that inspiration and communicate, good luck.

thank you thomas for your kind words. i think the most interesting thing about photography is learning the perception of the photographer. i was reading about lens blogs today, generally speaking every blogger is technically a lens blogger. observations about reality through their certain lens.
